Not to nit pick, but fumbling a ball after being hit isn't a mental error it's a forced error. Fact. Giving up TD's because of blown coverage is mental error. Fact You could argue both are execution issues, but I believe most would agree the more egregious error of these two examples...

Depends. Where do you live? Most folks around Iowa City, Cedar Rapids & Waterloo can pick it up on 600am. Central Iowa is 1040 AM.

I concur the TE's aren't running enough routes across the middle of the field but in fairness, the TD pass to CJ was up the middle. Also there was another attempt (not completed) to CJ down the middle of the field. That was more of a vertical route, but down the middle.

I agree with everything you state here. There are positives happening. However, I'm to the point that I'm tired of talking about moral victories. Losers sit at home and talk about moral victories. Winners get to go bowling and boink the homecoming queen.

I thought the same thing. As upset as I am about that play call (or maybe more accurately that the play was unsuccessful) I also have to admit I am happy to see we didn't always "play the percentages." I think that will pay dividends later in the season because other teams know we aren't going...

When watching the game on TV I recall a WR bubble screen on 3rd and short. I believe Chuck also defended that call on TV, saying something to the effect "I know many fans won't like that call but I think it was a good play call." I have a lot of respect for Chuck Long, he has forgotten more...
