Been every year to the event it is a fun event. Downtown Indy is small and easy to walk, with good bars, restaurants, and hotels. You should find a hotel downtown not that expensive, and you will enjoy the event much more. Nothing to do in Crawfordsville for sure.

Madison is always a fun road game, we arrived on Friday night, and enjoyed great pizza at Paisan's.. Then went back to RV and watched Cubs whip the Brewers, and smoked cigars, and had some adult beverages.. On game day always fun atmosphere in Madison, even in the 80's when they were bad still...
