    Name one former Hawk...

Ed played way back in the 1960s, I think Forest Evashevski (sp?) was the coach, and many of us on this board were not alive when he wore the black and gold, or the red and white of the KC Chiefs either.

Check out bar celebration following MSU game: IN SEATTLE!

One thing that people from the national media forget is that Iowa grads are all over the place, because THERE AREN'T ENOUGH JOBS in Iowa to keep them here! They leave to make the big bucks!

    Kinnick Memories

I was a freshman in the HMB, and I decided I would walk from Mayflower to the bubble, but someone picked me up on the way. We weren't allowed to be on the field because it was completely covered with snow, and they didn't want anyone to mess it up. The Gopher band came down, and they left after...

UI's best chance for bowl W...

I'm thinking whoever wins the SEC title game in the national title game, because we match up well against Alabama, and I do believe we can be Superman's kryptonite.

Of the 17 major stat categories in the Big Ten, guess how many Iowa leads?

Who really cares about stats? It's all about one thing: Scoreboard!

If the nation thought we were a slow, plodding team before...

ESU is the fictional school in the 1993 movie "The Program" starring James Caan ("Rollerball," "Las Vegas"). I believe Timberwolves (the school's mascot) were an independent team, playing a lot of ACC and SEC schools, but also played Iowa. Some pulling guard put the super intense middle...

Is this the first week we can forget the TUMS?

I would put away the Tums... and bring out the Zantac.

    Prediction

I agree. USC could be the best candidate to lose to Oregon, as the Ducks are a dangerous team in Eugene. Okie State also is able to beat Texas, but that might be a little bit of a pipe dream for us. I do hope the Cowboys do hook the Horns. I also think the Dogs might be able to turn the Gators...

Herbstreit is an Ohio State alum, so he knows Big Ten football.

    Iowa gets a #1 vote!!

We got .738 points percentage on the Harris Poll. Now we have to wonder what the computers say.

BCS beyond top three too close to call

We'll get there soon enough. Texas I believe will lose to either Okie State or A&M. Cincy, TCU and Boise don't have the SOS to keep them ahead or pull them ahead, and USC has that loss to Washington, as well as a showdown at Oregon Saturday.

What time do the BCS rankings come out today?

Since Fox has rights to three of the four BCS pre-championship bowls, it's up to Fox when they're released. Since Fox has a double header, I think they'll be released sometime between the end of the late-afternoon games and Game 6 of the ALCS.

Um, that's what people sarcastically say when they see someone flipping the bird.

    Bowl Projections

Of course, that projection assumes Iowa wins at Columbus, Florida beats Alabama in the SEC title game as undefeateds, Texas wins out, and neither Boise, Cincy or TCU lose.

HD pictures of the MSU game

I like picture 42 in the sequence. Typical of a student of the team that loses on the very last play, saying that they're No. 1.

Play by play calls of the winning catch.

I would love to hear how Will Thieman called it. He also hosts "This Week in College Football," which is heard here on KCNZ-AM 1650 The Fan.
