    Hawkeyes in the XFL

I just went through all 8 rosters unfound zero hawkeyes in the XFL. You would think we would have a handful of ex Iowa players but no, none. Jonathon Hayes though is one of the 8 head coaches....

There is something to consider in evaluating Jbo's future. Are we a better team defensively without him on the court. I would say yes. Would Jbo be ok with splitting 40 minutes in half with JT at 20 minutes apiece? It will be a game to game decision on minutes played.

Already talking about next year's team? Ok, I'm your huckleberry. IMHO, Garza will be back. Of the list of 2019 all American's drafted I imagine the first rounders stuck but what about the second rounders? Garza continues to impress however how does his game transfer to the NBA with giant...

The Opening Tip: Hawkeyes Welcome No. 19 Michigan to Carver

Hi, my name is Hillcrest1981 and I like Dan Dakich.... At least he doesn't use slogans and cliches all the time like Dickie V.

The Opening Tip: Hawkeyes Welcome No. 19 Michigan to Carver

I really like Bardo. I prefer Jess Settles but i'm an Iowa homer. I even like Dan Dakich. What's wrong with me?

How Luka Garza Found His Way To Iowa.

I don't have the stats in front of me but for CM to get up to 34% on threes is a great sign. I don't believe he started very well this year and last year he shot like 15%. If he, Garza, Evelyn and an occasional 3 pointer from Kreiner can make one or two a game, we are going to score a lot of...

The truth about CJ injury and the silver lining

I appreciate optimism at this point of the season, especially with our current injured reserve. Luka Garza is fun to watch and as always, I will watch every game to help pass the midwestern winter. Next year will be really fun. Especially because Luka and JW are going nowhere! Over the...

    Was Xavier there?

I don't think Luka has the game for the NBA. I don't know even if JW has enough talent for the NBA. The leap is very high. Think about it, how many players has Fran put on an NBA roster and I'm not counting players on a 10 game contract that get pushed back to the G league curb. I believe...

    Bowl Matchups

I live a little over an hour from Detroit, so if it's the Quick Lane Bowl I'm gonna go all out! Hit the tanning booth a few days before and buy a ticket from a scalper right before the game for $20....

The first QB I remember playing for Iowa was

I was a freshman at Iowa in 81. Gales and Bohannon split snaps as I remember. I don't remember which QB was more effective but I do remember I lived in Hillcrest. Reggie Roby was my neighbor and Bortz, Hilgenburg and Andre Tippet lived on my hall. My Hawkeye roots dug deep that year.

    Goofer luv

I don't live in Minnesota so I understand where you are coming from. I live in NW Ohio in the middle of Michigan and Ohio State fans. As far as hatred for other teams.... Ped State and the Huskers.

With two losses for Iowa, i would rather see the Gophers go to Indy than the Badgers or Cornholes.... Cant stand Ped State....

I usually on defense like to focus on AJ but I can't stop watching the car wreck that is our guards.

    Iowa Hometown Boy Hero

I thought of Bill Fitch after I posted this. As a Cleveland fan I remember him coaching the Cavaliers with the miracle in Richmond in 1976.

    Iowa Hometown Boy Hero

I can think of only Don Nelson with Iowa ties to coach an NBA team in the finals. Welcome Nick Nurse, native of Carroll, IA to that list! Nick will be coaching the Toronto Raptors against the Golden State Warriors in game one of the finals this Thursday. I am proud to be from Carroll and wish...

Way to early starting 5 (next year)

I really don't understand what Connor Mac brings to the table. Ok point guard, no threat to score. Opposing Defense can drop back when he has the ball outside. He turns the ball over and quick players run right by him. How on earth was he rated a 4* I'll never know. If JT and Frederick are...

The “Stealing Time from work and watching the Hawks” Thread

Dailey just ran out to defend and ran right by the guy who drove in for a layup. I wonder what Dolph had to say about that play?
