Chicago approx 1980, Hawkeyes vs. kitty cats. 4 of us flew over in a little private airplane saturday morning, got rental car and went to the game. After the game we hit Rush Street. Back in those days, poured a lot of liquor and illegal drugs into my body. We came out of a bar about midnight...
Big game from AJ, stone gets a turnover deep in badger territory, LaPorta emerges and Goodsen has some long gainers. Take care of the ball, limit penalties. Run when they expect a pass, pass when they expect a run. Everyone says our opponents know exactly what our plays are by our formations...
Badgers 28, hawks 10. Ho hum. Execution, blah blah, certainly, coach speak, they are well coached, blah blah, certainly, back to work, thats football, blah blah
Over on the Nebby board there was a thread railing agains't Indiana for faking injuries. Ha. Frost is a smug spoiled kid. Love to see him get beat. He isn't ready for prime time.
2 weeks to prepare. If we come into this game with business as usual game plan we will get trucked. Need a few new wrinkles, not telegraphing our plays.
I went over to Bug eaters message board to see what this Indiana AD thing was about and found this gem:
"When you have 4 bowl bids in 2 decades, beating a blue blood even a struggling one is a signature win"
Blue blood?
Spot on, Stanley has no game sense. should have gotten to the line and gotten the snap off before there was a review (actually time out by NW). Or when it is 3rd and 1, get the offense to the line and run a play quickly. We take so damn long to get play in, change personal, infuriating!
KF love affair with milking the clock just baffles me. After that LaPorta catch that was eventually overturned, Why can't we get to the line and snap it.? Iowa cannot or refuses to play any kind of hurry up, up tempo. Even if it was for 1 series? Just to maybe get the opponent to see something...
I called this while watching. Saw them come out of the tunnel, told my buddy they better slow that thing down, probably roll it. Next thing you know the blonde is airborne. Had to have happened before.
