    Colorado St. (1-2)

Their offensive coordinator is a former Wisconsin quarterbacks coach. They will know Iowa fairly well. Whether they can do anything about it, is another matter.

    Passing game issues

They're using Greg Davis's Ouija board to call offensive plays this year. The planchette only moves horizontally on Davis's board.

Anyone looked ahead to CSU yet?

You're saying the coach has only been there since last year. (4 games last year) If that is the case they are probably still transitioning to a new system.

    Pass Completion Over Turned

Logan Lee's jersey has a couple of holes in it, from the left tackle trying to pull it off on his way around him. I saw that Lee kind of glanced off of the quarterbacks back hip, and didn't really make any sort of solid contact. Did I miss something, or are we now penalizing anyone who touches...

    Fake Punt.....

You don't have to go back to Soviet Russia for this. Kent State's punter has it covered. Or maybe it's better to say it has him covered.

    IKM fumbles

Maybe. On the other hand, IKM is a senior. Sitting him down for half the season until he gets it figured out, is kind of counterproductive at some point.

    Fake Punt.....

The fake punt was a PR diversion by KF, designed to keep the bitch and moan crowd busy. It was a fake fake punt.

    IKM fumbles

The only thing I can think of is he tends to carry the ball a little low and to the side while in traffic. Opposing players have been putting their helmet on it.

    Passing game issues

Iowa was taking what Kent State gave them. Kent State took away the run up the middle and the deep passing game. Kent State dares opposing teams to throw the ball shallow into the flat and along the sideline. They hope to limit yardage per play and create turnovers. They managed to punch the...

    IKM fumbles

I don't know about sitting IKM, but Gavin Williams needs more playing time.

Checking out Maryland tomorrow against Illini; other Big games

Call it a morale victory for the bug eaters.

Checking out Maryland tomorrow against Illini; other Big games

All Maryland needs to do now is burn up clock and kick a field goal.

Checking out Maryland tomorrow against Illini; other Big games

I think this game is going to be decided on penalty yards.

We'll let them figure out which one goes on the bottom. Assuming the one on top doesn't roll over backwards on it's back.

Offensive Line, A Work in Progress

I don't see anyone in the list getting squeezed out of reps anytime soon. A lot will hinge on how well Schott progresses once back. I have a suspicion that his recovery is doing well and the staff held off until after the Iowa state game. Where Conner Colby fits into the scheme of things is...

Offensive Line, A Work in Progress

Jack Plumb graded out very poorly in both games. Will someone else eventually move into the backup spot at left tackle.

Offensive Line, A Work in Progress

Mason Richman has struggled at left tackle, but the coaching staff has confidence in him.

Offensive Line, A Work in Progress

Of course they need to test out Kyler Schott's foot. Justin Britt is a very good run blocker but not so good at pass blocking. Connor Colby has graded out really well in both games. He got plenty of plays against Iowa State and is pushing hard for playing time. I wonder if Colby will...
