Cal and Stanford might be better off going independent. Couldn't be worse than the options that are available. Oregon St. and Washington St. could slide into the Mountain West. Not ideal and they would probably have to cut sports, etc. but they don't have many other options.

Iowa's tight ends are typically very good blockers or they wouldn't be on the field. That is one thing that gets overlooked and adds a lot of value in the NFL game. Laporta fits that mold.
