But Tennessee moved on from their middling coach of Cuonzo Martin and hired Rick Barnes, so......I guess they refused to settle for "Tom Davis" and found their "awesome sauce" coach. Their "Tom Davis" is at Missouri after failing at California? Is Missouri playing in a post season tournament...
I'm not so sure about that. Don't our odds increase? Since we haven't hit on a hire in decades. A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile. As long as he keeps looking.
What? Wisconsin won 4 BIG titles since 2002! Guess how long it was before that? 1947! It CAN happen at Iowa. You just can't have fans that settle for mediocrity and a dog shit Athletic Director.
Lol. So, Fran can make the tournament every year, get blown out by 20 points every year, never win a tournament game again....and he'll be the Iowa coach for the rest of his life? Sounds about right for a Gutless Gary contract.
Don't forget that Gutless Gary had no intention of firing Lickliter until certain players walked into his office and told him "he goes or we do".
People incorrectly blame Lickliter for the demise of Iowa basketball. It's 100% on Gutless Gary Barta.
It's a matter of context. My original response was to the idea that Nunge would make us forget about Cook. I don't think his feet are as good as Cook's and I don't think he has a good handle for a 3/4. He doesn't have that non-stop motor that stands out, like a Baer or Garza. If he averages...
I like his potential but I don't recall anything from the 30 games that I saw him play, that made me want to describe his feet as "unreal". For a point of reference, Olesani's feet were unreal for his size. Tyler Cook has great feet for his size.
Works both ways. Basabe went from 11/7 as a FR to 7/5 as a SR. Uhl, Wagner, Pemsl, Ellingsen, Dailey, Gesell, Clemons, Williams, McCabe, etc, etc. Look at their FR season and then look at their SR season. Some of these guys got worse.
