Nebby hasn't beat a top 20 team in ten years?

Well, Iowa beat Penn State, Wisconsin and Georgia Tech, all ranked teams. Iowa went 11-2, won the Orange Bowl. Iowa beat Iowa State. Nebraska didn't have a single quality win. Nebraska lost to Iowa State. Nebraska would have finished 5th or 6th or worse in the Big 10 last year.

    Say what?

Did they have a choice? Either that or go to Conference USA? I agree it's pathetic, but they were in between a rock and a hard place.

Nebby hasn't beat a top 20 team in ten years?

They didn't beat Texas and they did lose to Iowa St. They lose last year's most dominant defensive player in the country. I think all the hype there are getting is unwarranted.

    Praise for Chip Brown

Jon, all insiders with sources in a big story are pawns. It's a way to get a message out without having to say it directly. You know this.

Nebby hasn't beat a top 20 team in ten years?

Your biggest "WIN" since the start of the 2002 season is a loss to Texas. Again, Iowa has beaten 13 ranked teams to your zero since 2002. Iowa has 4 top 8 finishes to your zero since 2002, Iowa has 2 BCS bowl appearances and 1 BCS win to your zero since 2002. Please don't try to compare...

    Praise for Chip Brown

Even though it's unpopular on this site. Chip Brown is starting to get the credit he deserves for being the source during one of the wildest college football stories in recent history. He was right on every step of the way. ESPN had to source Orangebloods during the entire duration of this...

Nebby hasn't beat a top 20 team in ten years?

Right now, they are not in a Iowa/Wisconsin like stage. They are in a Northwestern like stage. Again, they haven't beat a team that finished the season ranked since 2001. Iowa has done that 13 times in the same time frame. Traditionally, they are in a Top 5 all-time stage.

Nebby hasn't beat a top 20 team in ten years?

...and almost beat Iowa State. :)

    OrangeBlood: Texas Staying in B12

He might be a douch-canoe (I like that term btw), but what has he been wrong about? That the B12 south was going to the Pac 16? That was legit, legit enough that Colorado decided to bolt fearing they might be left out in the cold. He has been the most accurate news source when it comes to...

    Miller: La Cosa Longhorns

He is reporting "what sources close to Texas say". That's it. It's the same thing that Joe Schad is doing. And Chip was right again. Seriously. EVERYONE only knows as much as what Chip knows. This guy is right on the money. Is Texas a weasel, yes. Is Chip a puppet, just as any...

    Miller: La Cosa Longhorns

He's reporting what Texas told him...that wasn't wrong. Texas is the weasel, Chip did his job.

    Miller: La Cosa Longhorns

I haven't seen anything posted wrong yet by Chip Brown, but I guess we will find out soon enough as he and Joe Schad are giving conflicting reports.

    Lakers/Celtics

Except for ******** and moaning to anyone he could see, the refs, the crowd, his teammates, his coach. I don't know how his teammates are supposed to get into the flow of the game, when they become spectators when Kobe goes into Ball Hog mode. Yes, he makes incredible shots (more so that any...

    Lakers/Celtics

I agree. This is laughable. I live in LA and this is the typical Laker fan reaction. No way the Celtics are better than the Lakers, the refs have been helping them. I am neutral and I agree up until last night the refs have been awful, but I would say it was more in favor of the Lakers than...

    Miller: La Cosa Longhorns

All information on expansion has concerned Texas. He's been right on about all of it. He hasn't been incorrect about anything that I have seen. Again, while other "experts" have offered only speculation, he offered facts that turned out to be true.

    Miller: La Cosa Longhorns

It isn't bad info. He's been right. While other "experts" had the opinion that Notre Dame would join the Big Ten and the rest of the conferences would remain largely unchanged...Chip told what was really happening. Slant or no slant, puppet or not, he's been right on.

    Miller: La Cosa Longhorns

In a world of TMZ, blogging and Twitter where inside information is coveted, Chip Brown has been as accurate as I can remember about a story with this much attention. Who cares if he's Texas' mouthpiece? That's his job as an insider; to create relationships in order to uncover inside info...

Pittsburgh to join the Big Ten.

I think this post was the first incident that caused a butterfly effect which ultimately created the chaos that is conference expansion today.

The Importance of a Football Program

Watching this brutal game of expansion dominos, I can't help but think of how important the football program is to a university. It seems like every year at Iowa someone at the University criticizes how much attention the football program is given. How we spend too much money on facilities...
