D will be better next year...

Talent up front will be down next year, but I'd be happy with a little better depth and, most importantly, some much better conditioning. These guys were gassed all year. I understand some of it is a by-product of our inability of getting off the field, but they seemed to be gassed a lot more...

    Clone fans being clone fans...

Men's BB is improving, but it'll be tough to improve from the perennial 10 seed in KC with Nebraska and Colorado leaving the conference. I'm impressed with the talent that Hoiberg brought in so quickly. Still a few years away.

Zusevics, Koeppel, Ferentz, Vandervelde, Reiff, Reisner

I love what Coker brought to the table last night, bright future, but I thought considering all the threads on Coker, it was only appropriate to throw one out there with our starting OL from last night as well. It will be short-lived, unsexy thread, but I wanted to throw some more recognition...

    Clone fans being clone fans...

Not a whole lot for Cyclone fans to chat about, well other than women's BB attendance, so it is very easy default for them to find an angle to bash the Hawks even though ISU got smoked by Iowa on the field this year.

NCAA Ethics Now Officially for Sale

The fact that the NCAA even attempts to justify the inconsistent application of the rules is an insult to every fan's intelligence...well unless you root for OSU or Auburn. Dez Bryant lies to the NCAA about a supposed dinner with Deion Sanders and he gets suspended for the entire season. 5...

    Coker the greatest ever?

Poor Ladell never had an OL at Iowa, I always felt bad for him. Coker will benefit from great OL play in the years to come, that is if he can stay on the squad unlike most of his RB brethren!

Gabbrt has a cannon of an arm

Cannon of an arm, but you could tell he wanted nothing to do with contact from Iowa's D. I'm nit-picking because he threw all over us tonight, some of it by design considering how we play D, but I wonder how he'll respond to the constant pressure and physical beating a QB will take in the NFL.

    Thank you Ricky Stanzi!

AMEN- pretty average performance stat-wise tonight, really looked lethargic in 4Q, but he is a really good kid, has great leadership skills, well-spoken, represented Iowa very well for 3+ years and wish him nothing but the best. It was an honor cheering him on the last few years. Great career!

    Coker the greatest ever?

Re: We don't deserve Coker The last time a true freshman looked that good at Sun Devil Stadium was Marcus Dupree in an early 80's Fiesta Bowl for Oklahoma. He quit halfway through his sophomore year and fizzled out and ESPN had a 30 for 30 special on him as he was the "Best that never was."...

    Good Win but..............

STUPID THREAD. If they cover a fake punt like they should have vs. Wisky and stop Pryor on the 4th down run, does this entire line of thoughts even exist?!? Don't paint the Iowa program with a broad brush with the acts of DJK and Robinson. Clearly the team flushed that negativity tonight...

    Did I see a blitz???

Even if they didn't get to the QB, it sure beats watching Troy Johnson or Jeremiah Hunter attempting to defend a WR in pass coverage.

Bitter sweet W considering the media piling on...

Everyone in the media (especially central Iowa sports talk radio egos) wanted to harp on the negativity of the few players that didn't join us in Tempe, the media loved to embellish that the entire house was on fire, yet we had 50+ players that deserved better and were rewarded tonight. It...

    Coker the greatest ever?

Re: We don't deserve Coker Not sure I'd pat Coker on the back as much as we are. Great game by him, but I'd give most of the praise to our OL, most of us could have run through those holes tonight. He did impress me with his speed on the long run and loved him bowling over the DB on another...

A good qb almost always owns a Parker defense

It was frustrating to watch, but it did have a lot of similarities to our Alamo Bowl win over Texas Tech in 2001. They ran a spread O, we gave up boatloads of yards of under (more tonight), but really didn't give that many points due to some eventual bone-headed decisions (INT's). We...

    IOWA football awards announced

I can still vividly see Klug taking the worst angle ever on the 4th and 10 Pryor roll-back across the field...ughhh!

Who says Ricky Stanzi can't play in the NFL?!

If you give him time in the pocket, he throws a great ball...the problem in the NFL is you rarely have much time and need to make plays out of something relatively tight. I was excited how his senior year started, but it seemed like he was checking down to RB's waaaay too early in those pivotal...

    Stoops to Florida?

If I am Stoops, I am perfectly happy where I am at in Norman, OK. He is 7-1 in Big XII championship games. I'd probably play it out a bit to extract some more $ from OU, there's been years where 10-2ish keeps him on the hot seat, but the 7 Big XII titles is pretty impressive.

    Sash

Uh huh, but I am afraid it won't happen. Tough to watch the opposing O change personnel, two big lug blocking TE's come off the field with two quick slot WR's come in on 3rd and 6. I know our base D formation before we even break the huddle!

Wegher gone - released from scholarship

    But you did

Wegher has stipulation can't go to Big Ten Team

He couldn't see the field at Nebraska. He only played at Iowa because our RB's are made of paper plates and fudge sickle sticks.
