Before their first game of the 2024-25 NCAA season, the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team had a lot of changes that impacted the program. The Hawkeyes were coming off two consecutive trips to the NCAA national championship game, both of which ended with them as runner-ups.

I noticed Michigan beat ND and lost a squeaker (at least by the final score) to UConn. I thought I was somewhat up to date on the BiG teams but didn't realize they were that strong. The top of the conference will be extremely competitive.

Honestly I'm kinda surprised at the sky rocketing up the rankings. We've only won a couple of games against decent opponents and they weren't all that good at least I don't think. Baylor seems to have been way overrated. I would say Iowa should be in that 15ish-20 range yet. But I've not seen a lot of the others yet. I know the usual suspects of South Carolina, LSU and Uconn are all really good.

I did see that after getting down big to Uconn Michigan came back and made a game of it. So I'm not sure if that was Uconn letting up off the gas or if Michigan is going to be a problem. I think Michigan could be the real deal that Swords gal can shoot.
