Your thoughts on the in game reviews that re-officiate the game

My thoughts are simple: officials get 60 seconds to review a call, then the tv monitor automatically shuts off. If the officials didn’t see enough to overturn the initial call, they have to stick with it.

    IowaLaw's 2018 Non-Conference Update

Can we give Moss and Dailey co-disappointing? Moss might be the most frustrating player I can recall since Glen Worley. He flashes what he can do, but can’t quite break through. He has overall played better since the ISU game though, so I guess Dailey would get the nod from me.

    Bryant is 337 in kenpom

I’m just saying Iowa under other coaches has performed poorly at Breslin before, only to later play them much tighter if not win at Carver. Iowa is 3-22 at Breslin. Not many have done worse than that.

    Bryant is 337 in kenpom

I put MSU into its own category...we always play poorly at the Breslin center. If memory serves our last B10 tournament title team in 06 got it handed to them up there as well. For whatever reason that place has been a house of horrors for Iowa.

    Legislation to Play UNI

I disagree strongly with this. The nosebleed section seats at Wells Fargo cost $55, the next level cost around $70, and courtside cost around $90. For comparison, a few years back I went to the Iowa NCAA tourney games played at the Barclay's Center. I paid $220 for 6 games in a major...

    Bryant is 337 in kenpom

I was encouraged that on a night where they were off, be it Christmas hangover, overlooking the opponent, etc...when they had to make a play down the stretch they did. It also sure looked like Bryant was playing out of their heads. Last year we lost this game (on several occasions actually)...

    Stanley

I think Stanley is a solid quarterback who overall played well today. Whether it translates or not is a different question, but Stanley has nfl caliber talent. I’m not sure honestly if a couple of throws he missed were on him or the receiver for not running the correct route. I remember one...

Howe: Memories From Penn State Abuse Case Remain Strong

I find it beyond credible that no one else ever saw anything in 40 years. I forget who said it, but I do agree with the theory that PSU officials suspected SOMETHING, and that was why Sandusky was initially pushed out. Remember, he was once Paterno’s right hand man and heir apparent for a long...

    Iowalaw's Post Game Analysis: Maryland

I think it’s very hard on a day like this to make any firm conclusions about the passing game. The most I’d say is that they need to do some teaching with the qbs in general about throwing into difficult conditions like today, cuz thats maybe the only major ding I have, that it did look like...

Gold out in Kinnick for slain ISU golfer?

    No, it’s still striped sections.

Is Stanley arm throwing and guiding his passes?

His pick was a classic case of deciding before the snap where he was throwing it. It looked like there was a receiver running downfield and Peyton never looked at the linebacker.

    Schwartz - 10 Misguided Thoughts

I’m not really sure what you’re arguing. I’m not disagreeing that retention isn’t a factor. Coaching and recruiting matters as well. Purdue was DREADFUL on defense in 2016. Player retention alone can’t account for the major improvement they made, something like 60 spots in defensive rankings...

Is Stanley arm throwing and guiding his passes?

Yeah I thought Stanley had much better throws last week compared to the ISU game where several were short-armed. It obviously wasn’t perfect but I thought it was a step forward is all I’m saying.

    Schwartz - 10 Misguided Thoughts

It’s one indicator absolutely but it’s not a be-all, end-all. In Purdue’s case, a much bigger factor was the drastically improved coaching. In the case of say, Michigan last year, you didn’t a drop off like you might expect after losing 10 starters because they recruited very well.
