Two different situations and you know it. One is a head to head single game, one the season conference title based on overall record. When two teams finish with identical records and don't play head-to-head they are considered Co-Champions. Pull up a list of B1G football Champs. You don't see...

There's a lot of reach in the piece. Penn St losing does very little for Iowa. One could just as easily argue that it makes things tougher as PSU won't overlook the Iowa game. Nothing changes. Iowa still has to win out to make the playoff.
