Would a tournament work instead of the Big 4 Classic?

Just thinking that a tournament would be the way to go with all the division I schools in Iowas neighboring states. I realize you'd want to schedule lesser opponents to showcase the state schools and you'd get that with the Horizon, Summit and MV Conferences in our backyard. Schools like Missouri, DePaul, Marquette, St Louis, KSU, KU are all a short drive. I don't think attendance would be an issue, but would this be appealing to these other schools?

Something like this would create regional appeal-

Iowa
Drake
St. Louis
N. ILL

ISU
UNI
S Dakota
S. ILL

I think the Missouri Valley schools would be on board if it included a chance to play a major conference team but the more plausible thing for Iowa would be to schedule matchups like Creighton last year in Des Moines. When you consider that the Hawks will already probably have a tournament in November and play Iowa State you have to leave some room for some cupcakes.

True, there would be years where you wouldn't play the other instate schools. Not sure if that would not bode well in the state.
