If Iowa loses tomorrow?

We have depth. No one person is going to have to carry this team. I think somebody steps up tomorrow. Hope to be 6-0 before turkey day.

We really don't have depth. Olesani is just a practice legend. He clearly can't play. Ogelsby has had one good game in five. Clemmons has had one good game in five. May has had one good game in five.

This team is only 7 deep.

Yeah your sister is wayyyy deeper.

Improvement is greatly needed and soon......

We seem to be a different team when Aaron is off for whatever reason......

I would agree that Olaseni has been disappointing, but I would dispute that the other three have only had one good game each. There's more to this game than scoring.

Being able to go 7 deep is NEVER a bad thing. The key is having acouple guys that can penetrate and drive really hard and fast to the hole for atleast 10min rotations.

You remind me of Luther Campbell.

May's only played well in 1 game?

He's been extremely consistent; I've been really impressed with his defense and decision making. He is a very good role player for the Hawkeyes at this point. Hence, Fran trusting him at the end of this contest.

Do we lose our shot at the NCAA tourney? Do you like our chances against WSU?

First question) it depends on how the rest of the season shakes out.

Second question) this team will never concede defeat to anyone, before or during a game.

Next question.

I think Iowa has a good chance against WSU, I watched them play Depaul and they did not look to be anything special. They do have some size underneath that will give our bigs a challenge, Carl Hall is a tank. WSU top 2 scorers are forwards so they look to pound the ball inside a lot and this plays into Iowa's strength. They beat DePaul by out muscling them, they should not be able to do that against Iowa. They are very good at getting offensive rebounds, 3 of their top post players average more offensive rebounds than they do defensive rebounds (collectively). DePaul normally plays a man to man defense and they had to switch to a zone. A good zone defense will beat WSU, force them to shoot from the perimeter and keep them off the free throw line.

Basic summary: not a good 3 point shooting team, they pound the ball inside, get 2nd chance points, and get to the free throw line.

A loss to them really does not hurt their chances but a win could go a long ways, WSU will end up being a top 50 or 100 team.

losing to a non con weak team is not great - but hardly that dramatic, especially early in the season.

Big ten season is going to be what makes or break - will be a lot of RPI to be gained by the level of the big ten.

Well, let's see, you think we need to win 13 or 14 B10 games to be on the bubble so a loss to WSU would mean we need what, 16 or 17 B10 wins now, I don't know if I like those odds.

Fair enough, I'll concede that point for May and Clemmons. JO, however, has only had one good game. I like Clemmons a lot.
