Because everyone was on the edge of their seats wondering about him. He in his first season as the head coach of Marian University (NAIA). John Lickliter is an assistant. In their first game, they put up 107 points. 87 in game 2. Scratching my head...

+1. Lickliter is at the level he should be. He is not a Big Ten coach. I wish the guy no ill at all, and hope he succeeds whereve he is, but I'm glad he's not our coach anymore.

Not enough points were scored in Lickliter coached games for this to happen.. That said, no Lickliter Iowa team could ever have come back from down 23, either.

Oh God. What an awful year that was. We were never above .500. How does that happen when you are a major conference team?

There were plenty of games where I didn't think a Lick team was even going to score 23 points. But they usually got there with about 10 minutes left in the 2nd half.

Saw Lick as an assistant for Charlie Coles (Miami Ohio) team in a MAC game. Felt like yelling something but realized nobody would know what I was talking about, except Charlie Coles and Lick.
