He got busted, in part, for getting travel/lodging paid for on three unofficial visits. Including ones to Duke and UNC.

This is really a bunch of crap if you compare what happens in the rest of the country. The brother of his high school coach paid for him to go on two recruiting trips and that would have been fine if the guy was deemed a closer family member or friend.

Which means, if you come from a rich family, you are all good, if not, too bad.

The freaking NCAA can't get Cam Newton's dad, but they hammer this kid for going on recruiting trips to schools that he didn't even sign with?

Seriously, the problem was most likely that they freaking reported the situation themselves after they went to the UCLA athletics compliance meeting.

I agree. The NCAA seems to have a hard on for punishing kids, but are SO RELUCTANT to actually slap big name schools on the wrist.

Well, in this case at least, UCLA is getting slapped pretty hard for this season.

UCLA put up the most money for him which happens everywhere, if you say it doesn't you are stupid. I think they should allow schools to buy athletes because its already happening, just make the parents claim it as income and pay taxes that would awesome. Heck in some cases it would force the parent to get off unemloyment and not receive Obama care, so that would ease expenses for AMERICA as a whole and I'm all for that.
