Basketball Season Predictions

Damn 33, you must have missed where I acknowledged that I was incorrect, thinking the number was 10, not 9, and thanked someone for correcting me.

That being said, Iowa does not win 9 games in conference this year.

Nope I saw it. Just hard to take your contrarian act seriously when you're consistently wrong.

What act? I was incorrect, I was called on it, and I acknowledged it. I don't know what you're getting at here. Is it that since I twice made incorrect statements and then corrected them, that everything I say must be wrong?

Let's also not forget that you compared Iowa's chances of reaching the NCAA tournament to the Cubs chances of winning the World Series next year. That's about as wrong as an opinion gets, regardless of how bad my first post sucked.

No, I said they could both be characterized as "realistic", I did not say the chances were equal.

Either you're not reading what I wrote, or you're imagining hypothetical scenarios to discredit me again.

Discredit you again? I'm one of the few people that takes you seriously, Ghost, in spite of the fact that you have splayed my personal information all over this site in order to flame me.

...and saying that "it's realistic the same way the Cubs winning the series next year is realistic" is a comparison between the two likelihoods, which is the only thing that I said you did. My opinion was that it's an outlandish comparison. I stand by that opinion, whether you consider it an attempt to "discredit" you or not.

LOL no one needs to try to discredit you, you're doing a bang up job on your own.

Without my HN cred, I am nothing. I hope Aeischeid likes this so I can feel good about myself, otherwise I'm going to take a whole bottle of pills and it's all your fault.

Love your schtick Ghost, but you have been woooooofully incorrect in the BB forums the last 2 years. You said that last year we wouldn't see much improvement as we were losing Cole, and couldn't replace him. We improved by 7 wins and made the NIT. Now you have made the tragic mistake of saying 13 Big10 wins wouldn't get us to the Dance. Unfortunately for you in the spirit of the coming elections, you kind of did this to yourself:

LOL WUT? No I didn't? I was wrong about some things(like saying Basabe is the only player we know we can count on), but I never said that.

There is no way I can predict how these kids are going to play, so I will make a prediction for myself.

break the season down into 3 segments:

Non-Conference Schedule: 11 Total Games
There is the potential that 9 of these games I will have to listen to on the radio. I am hoping to be able to spring for B1G.com to watch the ones not televised. Right now it just says B1G or B1G.com, so we will have to wait and see. I might have to go with out Jack Daniels, and by the ol' Jim Beam.

I know I will see one in person and I will commit to the UNI game due to the fact its in DeMo.

18 game stretch of Big 10 Play:
I am going to watch every game I can. As long as the wife lets me. I've already started with an aggressive offense. I have gotten all the yard work done. I have brought flowers home every Friday. I plan on having the Christmas lights hung the first week of November (Don't worry, I won't turn them on until December).

Post season:
I will cheer loud from my recliner in exciting moments. I will blame everything on Hightower even if he is not officiating the game. I will be happy as long as the guys are giving their all. If the make the Dance, or are back in the NIT its still a step in the right direction, and i will not complain.

GO HAWKS!

I'm just going to sit back and read the positive comments about the program that it is nice to see again after all these years.

Then forgive me. I thought you were talking about the team struggling again, because he had no inside presence as we lost Cole. So while we did have ZERO inside presence, the team did much better than the year before. I am probably remembering wrong, but for some reason I thought you had said that.

I went back and checked, and I was wrong about a lot of stuff regarding last season. However, it looks like just about everyone was wrong about what was going to happen last season.

I believe my money shot was saying we would have the same lineup as 2010, except with a worse center (Before the season, Fran had declared *ugh* Archie the starter). For a full report on how wrong I was, double check this thread. Please repost and laugh as needed.

I will stick to my NCAA tourney prediction as either I am smart, or just got lucky last season on my prediction. Over .500 record outside shot at NCAA tourney and a great shot at NIT, also said Aaron White would be a very good player...I am guessing blind luck, but you never know.

Drunk and hiding from your wife to watch sports. If white men invented the blues, it would sound just like that!
