I'm sorry but seriously, after two games, if that is the next step, we truly are in a sad state of affairs...
Jeez. Thanks, Kurt.
They have a couple of teams that they should be able to score on easily. I think they win three of their first four due to strength of schedule. I can see them trying to put it on the next two teams.
Thats awful football. I mean thats football.
Wisconsin set all sorts of records last year and could only muster 26 on UNI at home. What gives you any confidence that we can do better?
I say we lose to UNI and squeak by CMU something like 17-13.

Those same Badgers also dropped all of 7 points on an Oregon State defense that ranked 89th in scoring defense, 101st in rushing defense, and 84th in total defense.
I say Wisconsin and Montee Ball are vastly overrated. Russell Wilson was the reason the Badgers were so good last year, and Ball was the prime beneficiary of Wilson's efforts, not the other way around.
I tend to discount going on the road to the West Coast as a barometer of how a midwest team will look. We went to ASU in 2004 and got beat 44-7 and their defense was not good at all either. We still avg'd 30 ppg that year. Numerous other times good Iowa teams have traveled out there and looked like they forgot to pack their offense. In addition, OSU got 2 full weeks to prepare for Wisconsin since their first game was postponed due to the Hurricane.

Fail again. Iowa averaged less than 25 ppg in 2004. That offense was not high-powered, although it was one of KOK's best seasons, if not the best IMO.
And I don't care about the West Coast factor. You don't go from offensive juggernaut to complete incompetence because one plane trip. You can go from above average offense to complete incompetence, though. And Wisky's showing against UNI, combined with their performance in Corvallis, would suggest the latter.
So I'm guessing you wouldn't call our 2002 an offensive juggernaut? We went on one plane trip to Miami and, well, you know the rest of the story.
It happens.
I'm on record as saying that I don't think we score more than 26 points against UNI.
Kirk will NEVER try to "put it on" a team.
