The Central Michigan University men's basketball team announced its first non-conference schedule of the Keno Davis era on Monday, a schedule highlighted by three Big Ten opponents and a pair of holiday tournaments.

The 13-game schedule includes a season-opening trip to Iowa City to face the Hawkeyes on Nov. 12 and a visit to Ann Arbor's Crisler Arena on Dec. 29 to face a University of Michigan squad.
 


I didn't even know Keno was hired by CMU. I wish him well. But I have to say, he has a strange-looking career arc.
 








Mr. Davis did a nice job setting his son up for a nice payday at Providence. I doubt he ever makes it back to that level.
 




Nonetheless, Keno's Drake team that made the tounament was one of the better teams from the state. They had that elusive ingredient, Chemistry.....

Plus the BJ Armstrong style point guard. They were fun to watch until The Shot.....

Wish he would have stayed at Drake.....

However the Providence post should have set him up for life if he plays his cards right.....

My sister went to Drake that year and kind of followed the team. She never really understood sports in her life so I had to explain to her that when that shot went in they loss. The look on her face was kind of funny.

I really thought they would play the second week, and had a chance to make noise in the Dance.....

Most exciting team at Drake since the Final Four team in 1968/69, which lost to UCLA in a game that Kareem says was one of the toughest he ever played in his life, HS, College, Pro.....

Beat North Carolina by 20 in the consolation game.....

Went to every home game that season at Vets. Friend borrowed a faculty member's ID card and had another friend who owned a printing shop make a few for the Lads. We just went in different doors.....

That game was for 3rd place, but the UCLA fans in attendance starting chanting "You're number 2" out of respect for what the Bulldogs almost did and were doing.

Well deserved praise, and especially from UCLA fans who used to be as obnoxious as Duke fans....
