The NIT is a legit tournament. Especially for a team like Iowa. If we make it that would be pretty cool because I never expected a post season tournament this year.
 




Win #17 is HUGE, guaranteed a winning record. That, no matter what happens to Iowa in the post season, is huge. Iowa is coming off back to back TWENTY loss seasons and if you would have told me after the Purdue game when Iowa was sitting 8-6 that they would finish with 17 wins, I would not have believed it.

Well, we're actually guaranteed at least a .500 record. 17-15 now, a loss in the BTT and a first round loss in a post-season tournament (NIT, CBI or whatever) would put us at 17-17. One more W needed for a winning season.

But point taken - a very nice step forward this year. I'm happy with whatever happens from here, but am really hoping for the true winning season.. At least 18-17. Go Hawks!
 




We really need Northwestern to beat Minnesota. It would open a lot of doors for Iowa to get to the NIT. If they went ahead and beat Michigan as well, even better.

oh yeah you are right. My mind is not working all that great after that win. I kind of turned to mush, I was crying, all that stuff......

I just love beating Illinois!

No worries - I was actually thinking the same thing you were and then realized we could still finish .500, but no matter - a win over Illinois makes my day. :D
 






Iowa's NIT chances have been hurt in recent days with small conference #1 seeds losing in their tournament. Namely Savannah State, Valpo and Bucknell. And if teams like Drexel and Middle Tennessee State do not get NCAA invites, them too.
