Big Ten Tournament Bye not out of the question

If Iowa wins out and Wisconsin goes 1-2(@osu, minn,Ill) we would have the tiebreaker over Wisconsin.

If Iowa/Wisconsin and Indiana tie(Ind need to go 2-1 @minn,MSU,Pur) Iowa would win the 3 way tiebreaker.

Iowa/indiana tie as of right now Iowa has tiebreaker, whoever finishes better between mich/osu would own tiebreaker (Iowa need Michigan to finish higher).

If Iowa/Wisconsin and Purdue tie(Pur need to go 2-1 @mich, PSU, @Ind) Purdue would have tiebreaker

If Iowa/Wisconsin/Purdue/Indiana all finish 10-8. Whoever wins the ind/purdue game gets #4 seed.

Iowa/Purdue Purdue has tiebreaker

Wisconsin proably not going to lose against Illinois or Minnesota at home, but if they did and lose @Ohio state it looks like a descent shot we'd get a bye. Probably come down to last game of the season needing Indiana to win at home against Purdue.

Iowa needs to beat a talented, but underachieving Illinois team at Illinois.
Beat a Nebby team that beat Iowa in CHA.
Beat a NW team that beat them consistently.

I'm more concerned about that than what other teams do.

I think Illinois will be gunning for Iowa like we do for Wisky and Indy the last few weeks. They hear the talk about Iowa and would like to be the spoiler for us as well.

I would rather get the 6th/7th seed cause we will likely need a win in the btt.

True, but I don't know how much a win over nebraska or penn state will help our rpi. And I would much rather be facing Indy or Wis in quarterfinals rather then Mich/OSU. And who knows maybe neb/psu over could pull off the upset over indy/wisky and we got a gimme to the semi's.

LIsten to yourself....Illinois gunning for IOWA?! ONly in the sense that that is the one game on their schedule they figure they can win.

I could be wrong, but i think historically MSU is rather average in the BTT.

In some ways this would be a worse outcome because we'd lost out of a potentially easy win in the first round of the BTT. However, even if we lose a first game round in the BTT how do you leave out a team that finished 4th in the best conference in the league? That being said, if we can win our last three games. We can worry about our seed later.

6 seed isnt bad because if we win we play the 3 seed I believe. Which now would be michigan and I like our chances there.

We'd be tied for fourth with several other teams that have better overall resumes than we do.

You just used "gimmie" and Iowa basketball in the same paragraph. That is pretty bold.

We need all the wins we can get if we want to get to the tournament. Even if it doesn't do anything for our RPI. 20 wins looks a hell of a lot better than 19 in the eyes of the selection committee.

Hawkfarmer has it right.

Don't kid yourself if you think Illannoy is going to lie down when Iowa comes to town. IF there is ONE team they can get up for it will be Iowa. Iowa has not beaten Illannoy at Illinois since 1987...THAT is a tough tough place for Iowa to play. Perhaps the toughest in the B1G for Iowa. And going on the road is always tougher.

All Iowa can do is win and that is going to be tough for this team. This team can play just as bad as they do just as good.

Win the last three games is all Iowa can do to help itself; then win one or two in the tournmanet. Then let the chips fall as they may.
