What would be better for program development?

Being one of the last bubble teams into the NCAA tournament and playing a game in a far off region against a 4 or better seed, or hosting a couple games at home in the NIT?

Trying to avert attention away from your ******* conclusion that Gatens isn't a great Hawk I see..

NCAA is 1000 times better then anything else. There's almost no chance of this team making it so I'd be happy if we could make a run in the NIT but no matter what it'd be much better to be in the NCAA and it's not even close.

No. I am seriously curious as to what people think. I keep going back and forth with my thinking on it.

The NCAA tournament excitement would be great, but I could see them really sticking it to the Hawks - particularly with the way they are sticking top seeds in their own neighborhoods now.

Also, seeing Carver like it was tonight, keeping this kind of home court momentum with a couple of tournament games at home could really springboard into next year.

But then the Dance is the Dance.

Winning a few NIT games at home will have zero national attention. Getting back to the Dance for the first time in a long time will help recruiting on a national level.

I agree with Matt. The recruiting benefits greatly outweigh any player development.

I think if the Hawks had been able to beat Campbell and Clemson, they would be a serious bubble team at 17-11 (7-8). Those two losses may be hurting the Hawks right now. As of right now, I don't see the Hawks making the Dance, but man do I feel different about the program as compared to Lick's last season.

A better question would be one and done in the NCAA or NIT champs.

In that case the NIT would provide more games and more practice which would be better for the team (not the program) going into next season. The NIT champion can only claim to be the 66th best team in the country and I personally would like to see it discontinued.
