That was because Vermont would get an automatic bid into the NIT if they finish as regular season champs in their conference but lose in their conference tournament. Vermont would never get an at large bid into the NIT over a team like Iowa.

That is not what he was saying.
 


It is how I read it, go look at it again.

Now if you are wanting Iowa to get an at large bid into the NIT you are pulling for Stony Brook to win the conference tournament.

He was comparing teams that were "last out". They certainly will not win the Am. East now so they have no shot at the NIT.
 


your right, it is either NCAA or bust for Vermont at this point. Teams from conferences like that generally do not get at large bids into the NIT.

they could be 20-1, you lose this late to THE worst team and you are not getting an at large anything!
 


I would love Iowa to get to the NIT but I don't think I could go the lengths of scoreboard watching when it comes to that tournament.

Why not? It would be a huge step in the right direction for Iowa to reach the NIT. When these conference tournaments start next week I will be pulling for all the regular season champs to win their tournament.
 


Honestly guys...if I have to scorboard watch for Vermont and Stony Brook.....I think I will just wait for the pairings.

Because regardless of where Iowa is as a program it's still just the NIT. I'll just follow Iowa's record and go from there.
 






aside from hawleyeryno, I dont think anyone is as negative as you. Fran is turning this around quickly with hard work and 4year players. if you can' t celebrate that than I really have no reason to respond to your posts (like ryno) any longer. I guess that is why they have the ignore feature.

I understand but it is still a heck of a lot better than the previous 2 twenty loss seasons we have had to endure. We have not seen post season action since Iowa lost to NW State in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
 


Though I suppose the times I predicted Marble to make the NBA, Basabe to be a strong player his jr and SR year, Iowa to be a very, very good team in two years and the time I predicted Iowa to go to the tournament after they won at Minnesota were pretty negative.

Yeah, I know which is why I'm satisfied with it. I just don't care enough to scoreboard watch in relation to it. I don't really see the problem here.
 




Speaking of bad losses...did anyone see the score of the Fighting Camels of Campbell University game tonight? They got beat by High Point by 38, 98-60...

We can haz do-over? Kthx..
