Do we make the dance at 10-8

10-8 in the best conference in basketball (maybe history) has to be good enough to make the dance, right? Maybe a win or two in the BTT because of poor OOC losses.

If we actually ran the the table to 10-8, that would be give us an 18 win season, with the big ten tourney still to come. If we go 10-8 in the conference, somehow win 2 in the Big Ten tourney to get 20 wins I think that would make us a bubble team. Our non-conference was really bad this year so that hurts us. I don't think we run the table however, 2-2 would be nice in the remaing 4 games to get above .500 and possible NIT berth.

Regarding the comment of 'maybe' the best conference in basketball history isn't accurate. No offense, but this isnt' in the top 5 of best years ever in the big ten, let alone best of any conference year in history.

How do you leave a 20 win team out with 5-6 wins over the Top 25 and 12-9 in the best conference?

Agreed. I'm not very impressed with the league this year actually. The Big 10 will have its normal time in the tourney where they get a bunch of teams in but only 1 team makes it to/past the Sweet 16.

Guys I've already said I was kidding about it being the best league in the history. I'm just mocking some on this board who think the Big 10 is unbelievable this year.

I actually take it back. Our RPI is still at 136. We can win out and win 2 in Big Ten and still not make the dance as our RPI will still be around 80's

Sorry this team has no shot at making the dance without winning the BT tourney. Just too many bad losses earlier in the year. (laying an egg vs. PSU and Nebby didn't help recently either)

If Iowa wins out the reg. season they will most likely go 5-6 vs. RPI Top 50, unless Minnesota and Illinois works their way into the rpi top 50, which would put us at 8-6 vs. the RPI top 50

Still we'd have a horrible RPI and terrible terrible losses.

If Iowa wins out, they are in... not to mention Big 10 Champions and an automatic qualifier... yes I've been drinking again.

If Iowa wins their last 4 games, same deal.

If somehow Iowa gets to 20 wins this year they will be on the bubble and not make the cut which would be a travesty considering that they can beat top 20 teams but had some early horrible non-conference losses and a couple of Big Ten eggs.

If Iowa wins 18 or 19 games which is still highly possible depending on the tournament match-ups Iowa will go to the NIT.

Perfect year for the Hawks to continue a great run to New York, New York and Matt Gatens goes out a winner, along with Brommer, Archie and Bryce.

at the same time I just pray Iowa finishes .500.

If your not impresessed with it this year. What year were you impressed with the Big Ten? I would say that there aren't as many big name players in the conf. but still anyone can beat anyone any night. I'd say we have 2 or 3 teams in the sweet 16.
