Why is this board in mini meltdown mode today?

Not going to argue that was a game Iowa should win and getting down 16 to that team should not happen. I'm not going to blame the loss on BC being out but most reasonable people know that this team needs him. When he is on the floor playing well Iowa's chances increase by quite a bit. And Penn State also plays pretty well at home although why I'm not sure, but they do. They smacked down Purdue by 20, beat Illinois, and gave Wisconsin all they wanted. I'm sure they wanted the Hawks pretty bad after getting abused for most of the first game(someone for the Hawks played pretty well in that game as I recall). Relax, this season has seen improvement and I expect next year will as well.

The fact that so many people are in "meltdown mode" is actually a positive in my mind.

Correct me if I'm off on this, but did people meltdown the past few years after almost every loss? Did a good majority of the people say "we should have won that game" after a loss to a B1G opponent? I know I rarely did, if ever.

The fact that people care so much are are expecting us to win games shows that the culture is changing. Fran is changing the culture. We are now SUPPOSED/EXPECTED to win games against other B1G opponents. Iowa Basketball is relevant and something worth getting excited about... and equally upset about when we lose.

This program is headed in the right direction. I still get excited and enjoy watching Iowa basketball and will continue to get excited and pumped up for every game going forward.

I remember being at the game a few years ago when Iowa played the Badgers in Madison (when little lick got embarrassed). I did not expect to win. I did not expect it to be close. I was not even upset that we lost, because it never crossed my mind that winning was even a possibility... we were blown out, btw.

Now I watch every game and record it so I can watch again. I yell and cheer. Fran is turning this program around and maybe it is hard to see that at times... but think about the improvement of some of these guys. Think about the recruits we are getting next year. We have analysts/announcers predicting that we will be dancing next year.

Even some of my friends that are Gopher fans have good things to say about Iowa and think we are headed in the right direction.

It always sucks after a loss, but we just have to think about the good things and the progress and the direction we are headed.

No one should be in "meltdown mode."

I think we could really make some noise in the next couple of years and I hope the program continues to get support from the fans. It is good to be a Hawkeye. :)

Go Hawks!

Whoa, I didn't say it was THAT bad.

You gotta admit that most of the time there's a lot grouchy old and young guys on here. It's probably like therapy, so if it keeps them from beating the wife, kids and grandma, I guess it's alright...and it's free. No insurance plan needed. ;)

I'm alright with the game.....

No problem here. Just business as usual.....

:D

Penn State is tough at home. They were last night, but almost lost the game due to the furious comeback the Hawks launched. They did not give up, even though most of us, myself included, thought the game was lost in the first half.

There is a lot of character on this team and it certainly shows. Many teams would have given up, and just played to get to the end of the game. We kept on fighting even when we would cut the lead to single digits and have them immediately make a couple of baskets to seemingly put the game out of reach again. We kept on whittling the lead down and had more than one chance to go ahead. That speaks volumes as to the character and toughness and strong willpower of this team.....

I pity the Hoosiers on Sunday. They will be running into a buzzsaw attack, the Mother of all Spankings.....

:D
