From article:

IOWA CITY — Iowa guard Devyn Marble’s dunk on Minnesota center Ralph Sampson III was nominated for the GEICO Play of the Year.

Here’s the news release:

Iowa sophomore guard/forward Roy Devyn Marble’s emphatic one-handed slam vs. Minnesota on Feb. 1 is nominated for the GEICO Play of the Year, Intersport announced today. Each week for eight weeks, four incredible college basketball plays will be nominated as the GEICO Play of the Year. Each week’s winner will be determined by fan voting through the official Facebook page (facebook.com/BestofCollegeBasketball). The eight finalists will compete in a week-long competition to determine the GEICO Play of the Year. The winner will be announced during the GEICO Best of College Basketball special which airs March 25 at 1 p.m. ET. on CBS.

I must say... the Northern Iowa play and the Oregon State play are pretty awesome as well.

However, keep voting. Remember, you can vote once PER DAY! I love the support from the Hawk fans so far!

I thought so initially, but I watched it a few more times and I'm not sure the guy even touched him all that much. The defender flopped real bad. I'm not sure what to think about it anymore... other than the fact that Marble's dunk was better. ;)

That is a charge all day long. No question about it.

I think the ref would have called it if he would have taken the hit and not have flopped so much, but yeah I think if I were the ref I would have called it and I think most refs probably would have too... but I can see why the ref didn't if he thought the defender flopped without actually being knocked over at all by the guy dunking.

Absolutely not a charge. He started to flop before he was even touched. Even then, he was barely grazed. If the kid would know how to take a charge, it would have been one.

FWIW, I think this one is even better.
