So wait, are we still trying to get Barta fired or is that all over now? I thought all mid major coaches sucked, what changed here? What happened to needing a splash hire?

This guy was at the Biggest Fishbowl in Sports, ND, for ten years. He also has made a step-up HC transition 3 times. He knows how to score points with fans and the press.

When I found out about the hire my first reaction was "Who?" But everything I have read and from the presser today I'm excited and on board too!

I would bet that the Sienna website has had more traffic in the past two days that it had all Bball season.

I think the details of that thread were a bit blown up. The point I was making was, with what Lickliter had, he was going to have a chance at COTY if he did anything with that team. And I thought he would. So very wrong.

As I was re-reading through the first two pages of this thread, I thought to myself "There is a reason why I don't believe anything Storminspank says. It seems like everything he says, I almost always have the opposite view".

And then I came across this gem:

I'll make a bold predicition. Lick will not win any awards.

I understand your excitement, but there is a fault in your numbers. He posted that prediction BEFORE the season started. You posted yours after Iowa had lost to ISU to fall to 4-7 on the year. Not exactly what I would call a fair bet.

There is no such thing as a fair bet when you are up against a guy predicting Lick would out coach Izzo, Painter, Matta, etc. It is more like putting Michael Phelps in the Special Olympics and expecting it to be fair.

I'm not saying I agree(d) with his assertion, but the times don't lie. You can't take advantage of him just because he's slow.
 


For the record ghost, I think on at least one occasion, Lick did outcoach Izzo. We certainly didn't beat them with superior talent.
 


Ghost, you are so smart we are not worthy of your presence.

So leave! :D

BTW, spank was right...Iowa did not finish 11th like the media predicted. Finished tied for 9th!
