For actually thinking, for a second, that KF would hire anybody but a 'yes' man. KF's ultra-conservative and playing not-to-lose philosophies will be able to continue to prevail with this hire. Hiring outside the program would jeopardize that.

The 2-month delay was to 'make it look good', like he looked high and low for the best candidate. KF knew from day 1 it was Phil.

Whoever he hires will do exactly as KF wants...the philosophy or style of Iowa football is not going to change one iota. What we have witnessed for what 12 years(?) is exactly what we will continue to witness. Mostly 7-5 seasons with half of those wins against cupcake teams.

The rest of the B1G is quite comfortable with Iowa's "style" now and knows Iowa's weaknesses, including Minnesota, NW, and Indiana, and Iowa is not about to attack an opposing teams weakness...that just is not fair. Get ready for more below average from out $4.5 million dollar coach. Even if he hires a dynamic offensive coordinator, he will tie his hands. He simply will not allow any risk or change. He knows one way and one way only. KF is the Tom Davis of college football.

KF will never defeat OSU but then Iowa has only beaten OSU 14 times in about 100 years so no big thing. The best thing Iowa can do with OSU is not play them. Michigan hired a dynamic coach so they are back so our victories over Michigan will be far and few between and KF will go out of his way to lose to NE.

And if he hires within the current staff for an OC, will KF become the $5 million coach? His salary seems to get bigger whenever the criticism gets greater.

No, shame on you for acting like you know anything about being the head coach of a major university football program. Like you know anything about how Kirk Ferentz did or did not do in this process.

Did you even think before you posted? Hiring "yes" men? Because any business/organization is better when you have people who don't take direction from their boss and undermine the goal. I wish Riley Reiff would have been less of a "yes" man and blocked whoever he wanted to instead of doing his assignment. I wish adrian clayborn would have done the same thing so he could get more sacks regardless of whether it allowed for more big plays.

Just as stupid of a comment as I would expect from the bomb throwers on here. You wish it was someone else - fine. Who would you have rather had? Did KF reach out to that person? Was there interest from that candidate? How did the interview go? You don't know sh!t. Get over yourself and use your brain for the first time in a while.
