Yeah, Carmody pulled a Tom Davis. Had the rock with 8 seconds to go, down two and they tossed up a prayer from at least 25 feet out when they just needed two to tie.

You don't appear to understand what is involved in rebuilding a program that had hit rock bottom. It's not an experience for the impatient.

I'm not sure what people expected this season, but the program had hit absolute rock bottom under Lickliter, one of the most pronounced plunges to the cellar that I can remember in collegiate sports. We are still recovering from an era where the average Chess tournament could outdraw the Hawks at Carver (AND likely hold the edge in crowd noise, too), and it's going to take time. Kryzewski himself would have this team and this program at about 11 or 12 wins right now--we have a long, LONG way to go before we can legitimately become upset about losing a road game to the 16th ranked team in the country.

Of course, I'm not as emotionally invested in basketball as football, and so maybe it's easy for me to say that. But still--the only loss of the year where griping seems warranted was to Campbell at home.
