In all the Norm Parker replacement speculation on this site has ex-South Florida coach and Hayden Fry assistant Jim Leavitt ever been mentioned as a possibility? If Ferentz could entice him to leave the San Francisco 49ers after their season ends to come to Iowa as defensive coordinator it seems like a great hire to me.

Boo hoo - just on this site alone there's more than a few members that could have benefitted from a coach going up side their damn head back in the day - it's called tough love or knocking the smart @ss out of you, either way it’s pretty effective when done right.
