The Prophets Miller and Deace?

In the week following the Pitt game, Jon was doing his rundown of what happened on his radio show. He told Deace that the Iowa comeback reminded him of the 8 play goal line stand against Syracuse in 2006. Then Deace reminded Jon that Iowa went on to finish 6-6 that year.

I'm not sure what that means, it has just stuck with me. FWIW, in 2006 we lost our last 3 games before an admirable (but losing) effort against Texas in the Alamo Bowl.

FWIW, Deace also cheats when doing his weekly picks, so he doesnt know near as much as he leads on. Just throwing that out there.

I don't know if this season more resembles 2005, 2006, or 2007. KF has mentioned 2008, but I think we are more likely in the start of a down cycle than the start of an up cycle.

I mention 2005 just because of the DL attrition from '04 to '05 so clearly looks like '10 to '11.

What does cheating on picks have anything to do with what he knows?

Meh....I just like pointing out that Deace cheats on his weekly picks. I guess there is no correlation between that and his vast knowledge of every subject in the entire world. Carry on.

How does one 'cheat' on their weekly picks? I'm looking forward to this explanation.

Are you familiar with this website at all?

Deace uses the opening lines on the picks he makes on like Thursday or Friday. The lines are usually 4-5 days old by the time he makes his picks. And according to Duff, Deace counts ties as wins.

Fair enough, but the guy does know his college football even if he doesn't know you can't use the opening line to bet/pick on a Thursday or Friday and you have to use what the line is the day of the bet/pick.

If Iowa wins their next two it will be like '08, split and it will be like '05, lose both '06. That was easy so when do I get prophet like status.:D

speaking of the alamo bowl against texas, how about andy brodell just ripping up the track against the all american texas d'backs! All i could say to my brother was "that white boy ate them up!"

If you have ever listened to him he uses the opening lines because that is what Vegas actually thinks the game will go like before the line slides due to keeping even money on both sides. Seems pretty straight forward to me, but then again I don't gamble so maybe it is a big deal:confused:

Would that make him a "false prophet"???

Deace knows players, stats, and rosters. Deace doesn't know football.

This is 100% fact

For the few predictions Miller and Deace get right there are countless more that are way off base....i.e. 95% of their conference expansion theories/predictions
