D coordinator happenings?

Yes I am one of those guys that looks over the pay boards for certain topics even though I am not a member. One post in particular popped up about 45 minutes ago and it already has generated nearly 80 replies. The thread title is "new defensive coordinator is...". I wonder if something happened with Norm.

Didnt he come back for a "visit" after he got canned? KF spoke up for him and we all know KF doesnt do that often, but rather defers questions. Stoops has been nothing but kind with words about Iowa. Might be they just find a spot for him until the end of the year type thing, if the guy really wants to come home. Or I should say back to where it all began for him.

I think this would be a great idea for him. That is, return to coach at Youngstown State. After watching him the past three years, I am pretty sure that is the level of football he needs to be coaching. His brother he is not.

agreed with one exception. If Norm's health is deteriorating again I could see Ferentz telling Norm that he really needs to worry about his health and let him go to protect Norm from himself basically.

Since we haven't heard anything on that front though, I'm greatly skeptical about this.

Somebody is saying Mike has already been hired and Norm is staying on at some capacity. Just one poster and of course no sources. The rest of the thread is people being sarcastic or people pissin because the OP doesn't give his source. I give the chance of this being real at 2%.

No way he does it for the remainder of this year. Maybe as a general assisitant defensive coach if Norm is done and Kirk just wants another set of eyes in the booth/on the sideline.

Who called the D when Norm went down last year?

As far as next year...it would shock me if Kirk does not promote from within, but he did bring in Soup from the outside.
