Things always come down to money for me. KF gets paid too much to have teams that play like dog. If we are going to field a team that loses to NW and Minny, we might as well hire someone for a third of the salary. I bet we could even find a real nice guy that represents the university well and loses for less than a million a year.

What an inane post. No one is taking pleasure out of Iowa losing, however, it is very funny to watch people act like idiots. I am an emotionally mature adult, so it takes me about 25 seconds to recover from the loss of a football game. After that, I have two options; One is to try and reason with a couple hundred cry babies and convince them they're acting immature and ruining the board, or two, I can treat them like the whiney and irrational children they are, by not taking them seriously.
You can try and rationalize the behavior all you want, but the "fans" who troll this board after a loss do not deserve my respect. You may call it "invested", I call it being a child.

With a loss, think the meltdown should be more over the future of the team considering all the recruits in attendance tonight. If there is a lackluster effort and boo birds come out we can can forget any of those recruits considering Iowa. We win and atmosphere is electric, then Iowa visit sets bar high and those recruits will remember.
This game is big for the W/L column and divisional race but also the future of the program with recruiting. It's a double whammy.

Whether or not this is a W for Iowa tonight, I will go on record and say this team just isn't very good, certainly not among the elite Iowa teams of the past 20 years. Bowl eligibility could be a big question mark this year.

I dont understand people who are upset with how much KF makes. If we fire KF and pay someone else less money how exactly does that help you? Do you think you will see any of that money? I bet they take that extra 3 mil and redistribute the wealth among the people right?

It is mind numbingly stupid, yet is seen as orthodoxy on this board. Our fanbase is not terribly smart.
Why in gods name would you spend even ten seconds on this board if you are mature enough to ''recover'' from a loss in 25 seconds? You should be on to family activities in 26 seconds unless you feel compelled to invest your time on a message board for some reason...
The poster I was responding to indicated that he is entertained by the meltdown of Iowa fans...meltdown can refer to anger at the loss or anger at the coaches..whatever. Personally, I do feel angst for more than 25 seconds after a loss,call me crazy,but why anyone like you would frequent a football board for 12 months a year,only to be actually concerned about the outcomes of games for mere seconds,I cannot fathom. I do not suffer the fools who go nuts about the coaching staff or the players,but I do have regret with what went wrong in the game. Why do you come on here ? Simply to hammer on other fans? You have more than two options...a third option is to just not come here at all,right?

You do know it is possible to discuss things without being so emotionally fragile in them that you freak out whenever something goes wrong, don't you? I come here because I like Hawkeye football and I like to talk about it. What I don't like is people acting like petulant children. I have to deal with that in my day enough.
To put it in another way, I like to play chess. I play chess all the time. I am not, however, so emotionally wrapped up in my chess games that I flip out everytime I have a set back and demand the queen be fired. However, I could spend hours a day playing chess, because I like it.
You see, it is possible to enjoy something and still act like an adult when it doesn't go exactly the way you want it to all the time.
