Kirk's career record vs ISU, NW and Indiana

WTF is the point of beating a Michigan (who hasn't been that good lately), PSU (who we've been more dominate over under Ferentz than just about anybody), or those other schools if we keep losing to the ones we should be beating most often?

Why the hell should Iowa under Ferentz have a worse record against ISU than PSU!? There is no defending this, PERIOD.

Just imagine if we could beat the ISUs and NWs of the world ALONG WITH the PSUs! Perish the thought!

You are right... fire Kirk now ... Rid of the entire staff and let's start over ... I guess I won't defend anything ... Something to ponder since you are so definitive in your stance ... How about we had a coach who lost to ISU, Penn State, Michigan, Indiana, etc., all the time? Ever think about how bad we could be? Posters like you are funny (well, not really) ... A loss and all of a sudden Kirk is not getting it done ...

I do get it ... it does make you scratch your head a bit ... Losing to programs who, at least on paper, are not on the same level ... But, after being a Hawk fans for more than 30 years you take the good with the bad ... And in my opinion Kirk has given us a lot more good than bad.

AND it is not going to get any better. NW will beat Iowa this year when Iowa plays ultraconservative predictable Iowa football and NW plays risky, take advantage of Iowa's weaknesses. Iowa will punt on 4th and one; NW will go for 4th and 8 (and as usual our defense will not be able to stop the play). We will have a chance to take control of the game but KF will throw that chance away with a very ultraconservative play. Don't want to take any chances or try something new, the team might make a mistake. Can't have that.

Then we will play Indiana and if lucky Iowa will score a TD in the last minutes to win the game. Of course, the rest of the Big 10 is beating Indiana like a rented mule but Indiana knows EXACTLY what Iowa is going to do and will almost beat Iowa or WILL beat Iowa. Iowa of course will NOT take advantage of Indiana's weaknesses and will do exactly what Iowa does every game for the past 13 years.

This staff is the Lickliter of college football.

Michigan will beat the hell out of Iowa. I'm not sure how many more games Iowa will win this year because of coaching. Probably not very many. Could it be that the rest of the Big 10 has learned how to beat Iowa? AND because this coaching staff will never change anything...ANYTHING, Iowa is going to lose more and more and more games. The sad part is that Iowa should be winning most of those games with ANY kind of imagination from this coaching staff.

And Iowa fans are in love with KF so Iowa fans just need to get used to the ultraconservative, unimaginative, play scared and cautious, unemotional football that this staff wants to play and ONLY will play. Blitz regularly...ONLY bad things happen when a team blitzes. Besides doesn't other teams run the ball every down like in the 60s? That is how Norm plans his defense from week to week. The offensive coordinator pulls his little paper from his pocket and tries to decide which of seven plays they will run this time...of course the defense knows what all seven plays are. Doesn't matter, this is the "safe" way to play...give the other team all the advantages that you possibly can...and lose the game.

"This staff is the Lickliter of college football."

That might the most ridiculous thing ever typed on this message board. And that's saying a lot.

Iowa will never be elite. Ever.

The best we'll be is respected and relevent. That's good enough for me.

No reason they can't be a consistent top 25 program though. 2 out of the last 7 years isn't respectable for a top dollar coach. Keep up the loser mentality though.

A loss and all of a sudden Kirk is not getting it done ...

No, losses like this year after year after year because our coach has no sack. Because he refuses to adapt unless pushed to the brink (see: 2004).

And I'd say losing to ISU 7 times in 13 years qualifies as "not getting it done".
