Can we now stop talking about Vandy v. OSU???

His other games have been average at best. Other than one game (in which he still threw a few picks) he hasn't proven anything. Fact.

The OP is right on.

NU = horrible
OSU = game of his life
Minney = below average
TT = can't tell
ISU = below average

Folks on soundoff playing this off as vandys first year as a starter. I'm sorry, but there is a large enough sample size to start drawing conclusions.

Vandy was fine, we ran the ball too much when it was evident Coker was going to do ****, Davis dropped a huge pass, once again Ferentz and the staff choked.

Yeah, I just don't get the "let's pin in all on Vandy" argument. The guy's still young and unproven and if people are unrealistically expecting him to pick up where Stanzi left off then they're the delusional one's. Then again, I can see that since those of us who questioned his ability coming into the season were criticized for the possibility that he might not be good enough to meet everyone's expectations.

Well he did lead the team down the field and scored a td and 2 point conversion that should have been the game winner. If the D can't stop the clowns with 5 minutes left and your coach doesn't let you try to get a field goal with plenty of time left then you don't deserve to win. I certainly don't hang this loss on him. He didn't have his best game but it should have been good enough to win.

Vandy was all over the place today and was trying to be Steele Jantz running around. On that td drive to put us ahead at the end of regulation, that was a horrible thrown ball that should have been picked off. He is going to be more lucky than good.

Yes he made some bad throws today as I think he would be the first one to admit. That being said he was not the reason they lost the game. So he threw a ball that should have been picked off and that somehow negates the fact that it should have been the game winning drive? Vandy did his job, the D didn't do theirs. He also threw a td in overtime.

I didn't think Vandy was terrible. He didn't turn it over, and he made some big throws. He was more inaccurate than I expected though.

Never said the loss was his fault. He just does not have the IT factor we need and he doesnt know what he wants to do when he's out there.

Let's be honest guys. He got extremely lucky against Ohio state. He had a pick 6 called back and a pick that the db missed that went right to moeki. We should have lost by 20

Would you be saying the same thing if the D stopped them at the end? My point is that I think people's views are a little skewed right now because it is an L. And Jantz does have that IT factor right?

Jantz was the better QB today but the real problem is the D, particularly the D-line. How many times are we going to have to watch them blow leads in the 4th quarter? How many times are we going to watch the opposing QB sit in the pocket all day while our linebackers try to cover wide receivers? It's getting old.

Yes i would have said the same thing. Vandy still has not shown me he has what it takes to win. At the moment he is 2-2 and if you included NW where he played 3/4ths of the game, he is 2-2.75

Mac, come on man. I got you to agree with me that he wasn't the reason they lost the game and that the D let us down on the clowns last drive. He's 1-1(I'm not counting either of the games 2 years ago as a redshirt freshman one of which was in the shoe) in his first year as a starter with his only loss against are "rivals" in hostile territory.

EddyP you gotta count the games. They were actually played. I'll give you NW since he didnt "start", but the shoe and Minny you have to count those.

Look at sdk's summary in the second post of this thread,because it's right on. Time will tell, but lets stop hyping Vandy based on a single game two years ago. Every one of his other games doesn't support it.

That's fine go ahead and count them. He won against Minny(although it was a painful game to watch) and he played well enough to win against OSU. So he is 2-2 and his two losses were on the road(one in a place we never win and one in a place where we also often lose) and in both games he played well enough to win. Would you agree with me here?
