Daniels is on record stating that the level of leadership is higher this year than any other year that he's been at Iowa.
Also, from what I understand from folks close to the program, this has been the most competitive camp in a while.
I think that both of these observations bode well for the Hawks.
Also, to clarify why these comments complement the topic of this thread ... I think that Iowa's walk-ons provide the program with A LOT of that extra "push" that is so needed. When guys on 'ship see how the walk-ons are busting their tails ... AND SUCCEEDING ... and playing BETTER than other guys on 'ship ... that ups EVERYBODIES energy-level.
Furthermore, look at guys like Donatell, Nardo, Tobin, Staggs, and Sleeper ... among many others. Those guys aren't only playing well ... but they're also upperclassment. Whether they're on ship now or not ... they're CLEARLY 100+% invested. That also sets an example. It also demonstrates LEADERSHIP!
Anyhow, I'm very proud of our walk-ons ... and I'm so very happy for them.
