This "trophy."

I've been busy and gone for a few days... just seeing this now.

This idea that it is sponsored by Iowa corn so it has to involve corn is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

I'm sorry, I had confused Iowa with midtown ******* Manhattan until I saw a trophy involving corn.

Oh, those are corn crops, I thought we were on Tobacco Road?

When I first set foot on the Iowa campus, I was convinced that just on the other side of the interstate was the God damn Atlantic Ocean.

Um - Iowa Corn? YOU"RE IN IOWA! We know all about the corn.

And since Iowa vs. Iowa State is hardly a blip on the national radar, are they really concerned about Iowans choosing Nebraska corn?

No offense to Iowa State - but this is the kind of thing that is acceptable to a program that is a mid range program in a mid range BCS program.

But when you are Iowa, and you are a national brand, and you played and won in a BCS bowl two years ago and consistently finish in the top 25, you need to be more concerned with the image you project.

You are not projecting an image of being proud of the agricultural parts of your state, you are projecting the image of being an idiot.

Barta is obviously a very skilled fundraiser and that is more important, but his judgement is lacking at best.

I agree with everything said. Iowa Corn took its sponsorship and made the game and everything associated with it ALL ABOUT IOWA CORN.

Barta may know how to raise money but that does not mean that the University of Iowa has to prostitute itself to whatever Iowa Corn wants.

Barta should have told Iowa Corn to stick that trophy up their a$$ and design something more appropriate for the series or give them their money back and tell them to take a hike.
