How about you post your number and have a ton of people bother you. Pretty sure whomever you contact there will not be the person that decided it....but hey, you're gonna show them.

Sending an email to the corporate website account is not harassing anyone. They do not even have to read them if they do not want to. They will know, simply by the shear volume of emails received, what the emails say.

Iowa Corn Board put a "contact us" button on their website. Obviously they want your feedback.

Pretty sure you must be "Mindy" at the Iowa Corn board. Your trophy sucks.........but hey, you're gonna show us.

So why would they create a facebook page for the general public or have all their contact info on their website if they didn't want people to contact them?

How about you make this your 1st and only post.

If your first post is an indication of your contribution to this site then GTFO.

This 'issue' is so...well, dumb. Who cares about the trophy, it is the game that I care about as long as their is an Iowa vs Iowa St. game, I only care about the Hawkeyes winning. You do not play the game for the trophy, you play the game for the 'W'. Just my humble opinion and yes, each of you are entitled to your own, but I refuse to waste any more time than I have in this post on this subject...

agreed.

Because when the game is played I guarantee you there will be endless camera shots of this Pillsbury Bake-off trophy followed by snide remarks by the announcers about what a bunch of corn-cobs we are in Iowa.

You waited almost 2 years to post. Please don't post for another 2 years.

Thanks.

This morning the Facebook page had a bunch of posters that didn't like the trophy and I just checked again and they're all deleted.

You are an idiot, kfs80. Why should people not contact Iowa Corn to complain. I know someone who told me not to bother complaining about that woman (Ann something or other) in the UI administration that was Mary Sue's right hand a while back in the hiring of KF and other things. She is also the same person who made the ill advised comments that she was shocked that the person writing terrorist threats to the UI Dental School was a young woman because she herself assumed it would be a middle aged white man because they are responsible fro all of society's ills, or some idiotic comment like that.

Anyway, my friend told me that I was wasting my time writing Mary Sue to complain. A few month's later, after those comments blew over, that gal quietly took her place back in the UI Nursing College and had no more responsibilities in the upper echelons of the UI Administration.

Granted, Mary Sue maybe would have sent her back there anyway. But letting someone who works for the public or the public interest know what you think is not a bad thing. And letting these people know that they are making our teams look like fools isn't a bad thing either. I don't think anyone would have a bad thing to say about Iowa Corn if they hadn't come up with such a stupid concept for a trophy. So why should they be called out for being idiots?

Iowa Corn is providing contact information. And if they do change it in a few months I guess you will have egg (or corn) on your face, won't you.

You may be surprised at how what a strong public reaction can have to a company. Not saying they will go back to the drawing board, but I can guarantee you they are paying attention to the tweets and any facebook postings they receive. Companies are very concerned with their image, especially in this digital age. Not saying this is a company like Apple of Nike, but nonetheless, you can bet Iowa Corn does not want to simply be known as the 'people who created the horrible trophy.'

You contact whoever you have a complaint with etc. because it just flat works especially when enough people are involved. It's called making changes and this is one way to get it done.

You're right - the person who is initially contacted may have had nothing to do with the decision but you don't think that if they are blasted with comments that they won't get passed on to the right person(s)?

First don't now anyone from Iowa Corn so excellent observation.

May want to gain a little understanding about what the NON PROFIT Iowa Corn "corporation " is all about. They are here to stimulate and grow the corn market for those people that actually work instead of posting on message boards "2,694" times in less than 2 years. But hey, why would we want them to waist there time on that, because clearly their "Contact Us" is intended for football related issues.

If its going to get changed, it will be driven from the U of I and ISU, something that is clearly not understood by this collection of special people.

Either way, they have already succeeded in spreading their name to even to some of the simplest minded people. On behalf of the corn growers, thank you. Keep whining, it actually helps this great state.
