247 says Duncanville, TX OL down to Iowa, SMU, N Texas, Vanderbilt, and Utah St. Will take officials to each school.

Interesting competition.

I like the kid. At one point in time, it appeared as though he had an offer from Okie State too. They must have cooled on him at some point.

Anyhow, between Butler, Fuller, Kozan, Shoff, and Diamond ... I expect that we'll probably land 2 more quality O-linemen. I like that Butler and Fuller are in the mix ... it implies that the coaches have some guys who they feel good about before even having to evaluate any SR tape. Also, it also helps us have a little bit more leverage with the other recruits too.

I expect that we'll have a mighty fine OL class this year.

To be fair to all, Rob Howe at HawkeyeInsider was the one that wrote about Butler's 5 official visits and a message board poster or Voice of the Hawkeyes asked about it and it was confirmed. Just want to give credit where credit is due.

Hmmm ... if those are truly his finalists I would think Iowa would have a better shot then SMU or Vandy, etc. Not exactly national powers, nor noted for sending o-linemen to the NFL

WTH is your nanny-complex?! You bust Mick's balls and now this. We aren't in a court room Mizz Allred.

I respect and appreciate the work of the men that write about Hawkeye sports and recruiting. I think they deserve to be properly recognized for the hard work that they do. Also, I corrected myself and apologized on the thing with Mick, fwiw.

It seems like the issue may be that we still need to "talk him into" leaving Texas. It's a big jump for guys to leave their state. Furthermore, a lot of guys don't always believe that they're ready for the big-time either. Iowa had to convince guys like Jovon Johnson and Bob Sanders that they could play on the big stage too ... turns out that the Iowa coaches weren't lying!

yea we got jacody coleman here and he showed great potential but got homesick and transfered back to a smaller Texas school. I wish he would have stuck around

There was more to Jacody's story than just being homesick. As far as I understand, it didn't really have to do with anything bad about him ... more to do with some of the bad things that can happen when you're in the fishbowl.
