I'm very surprised by where Iowa is at in the preseason poll. I certainly didn't expect to see them that high based on returning starters and the amount of question marks that the team has. The funny thing is, one or two early wins and this team jumps right into the rankings.

Just another reason why NO poll should be released until at the earliest October. SEC gets inflated rankings all year due to beating "ranked teams," because they were placed there in the preseason.

I think another crime is Texas A&M at #9. They should be around #5 or #6. They return a ton of guys, including Tannehill who might have potential to be first round QB material when it's all said and done.

I might be a little bit biased, but do you guys actually think we're too high at #30?

We have a great offensive line, some key spots on defense with trusted players, and a quarterback who isn't nearly as big of a question mark replacing Stanzi as it could be.

I think the pollsters just don't want to miss Iowa. It is like the weather-forecasters who predict the most extreme weather so that they can't be accused of missing the big one. Iowa has proven itself too many times to be ignored in a preseason poll of just about any season. Unless they have a total meltdown off-season, they will be ranked at least this high.

And remember that the last impressions some have had was the great bowl game win. Maybe that is worth a few spots in the poll.
