First there was the Smurf Turf

Just imagine the possibilities if BCS schools did this...

Iowa: all black. Only problem would be field temperature on sunny days. You might not want to stay on the ground long after you get tackled--could end up with 3rd degree burns.

Penn State: let them have a real white out--with blue stripes.

UNI: purple. Now that might be pretty sweet looking in the dome.

Syracuse/Illinois: ugly ugly orange.

I relly think that it's disadvantage for the visisting team, If the home team wore red you might loose them on the field

I don't agree IH...it would be a problem watching on tv, much like Boise State because of the camera angles, but being down on the field where the turf wouldn't be a background shouldn't cause much of a problem for the players...it would be like saying that Marshall and Michigan State and others teams in green would have a camoflauge advantage on a traditional green turf...which we never hear complaints about.

My cousin played for Boise State. They never felt like they had an advantage with blue on blue.

I have a hard time watching Games at Boise on TV. I have to dull the color and contrast or it bothers my eyes to watch it for 3+ hours. I know that's probably just me.

On a sidenote, why does Field Turf look so awful indoors? The look of Iowa's new field on TV compared to how the SuperDome (or other indoor stadiums') turf looks is amazing. I guess articifical light doesn't bring out the green color very well??? Field Turf doesn't look near as much like real grass when its indoors compared to outdoors - what gives?
