Frankly, I wish that some of the other AD's in the league were speaking out. The silence coming from the other institutions in the Big Ten and the Big Ten front office is pretty deafening.

I agree, and his perspective was pretty interesting. I agree that fOSU and scUM both being bad is not good for the league. Like it or not they are our marquis program and the perception by many is when they are bad so is the B10 in general.

We don't even know the full extent or end result of the investigation. Without all of the information it's impossible to say much of anything meaningful. All Alvarez said in the article is that it's bad for the league when Michigan and OSU are struggling. Alvarez is saying nice things here in this article but the college sports world is a zero sum game. Not every team gets to win. The only way for one team to win the league is for someone else to not win it. If Wisconsin benefits by OSU being hit with sanctions, Barry will not be shedding one tear over their troubles.
Chris Spielman was quoted as saying that 117 other FBS teams aren't feeling one bit sorry for Ohio State. The other teams in the league want to win conference titles, and if OSU's troubles make that a bit easier for them, then shame on OSU for putting themselves in that situation.

Stopping the cheaters (Mich/OSU) can only help the honest programs rise. If they rise then the league can be seen to be deeper IMO. I don't want to help the leagues reputation by allowing cheaters to cheat. The very idea seems to be an oxymoron.

It doesn't hurt the SEC. The reality is no one cares if you are cheating, unless you happen to be that teams rival and are doing everything right yourself.
