Iowa Football: On the Verge of History??

so, we've got 5 more to go to tie and 6 to go over?

does that include the '12 and '13 classes? or just next year.

It includes anyone on the roster in 2008, so five-year seniors will be in the 2013 draft class.

You can write down Reiff and Prater's names in ink, and McNutt should also be a lock. It will be interesting to see who else (if anyone) emerges...

Now that I see that roster, I would guess that Broderick Binns would also be a good pro prospect. Not sure if I see any other locks on there. What do the O-line experts on this board think of the non-Reiff linemen on that list?

reiff, mcnutt, and prater are as good of locks as you can get for getting drafted.

mike daniels has a good shot. binns too

james ferentz? tyler nielsen? JVB? all three have growing to do but have a chance as well.

When Vandervelde was drafted today and they showed his clips, one of the ESPN guys immediately said, "Ooh, I like that tackle." If Iowa is going to have a top-10 pick anytime soon, it's going to be Reiff.

Good point, here's a few more NFL players - Mitch King, Matt Kroul is with the Jets, Rob Bruggeman made the Falcons squad. DJK is gonna play somewhere, Donahue will too.

Yes, there is that list to compile, but I am going off of drafted players from one team, at least for what I am working on.

With all this "Draft talent" on the roster the last few years, it makes the fact that Iowa finished last season 8-5 rather difficult to digest.

The "more with less" isn't a very good argument right now.

Actually, the issue was the lack of talent in the 2008 and 2009 classes. Just no depth to step up when Tarp, Mac, Tyler, and Adam went down. Had to skip those classes for senior walk-ons and freshmen. Have a guy who is ready to play LB or Guard and we don't lose at least 2 of those games.

He meant the tackle on the ball carrier in that clip. Greene got lit up against Mich St in the highlight they were showing. But yes Reiff will be a first round pick.

This. How can we have SIX players drafted and still lose 5 games?! And if Indiana WR could catch a ball, we lose 6 games.

Terrible in-game coaching is the answer.
