It kind of slapped me in the face to see that we have the FEWEST returning starters of any conference team. I knew it was low, but not the fewest of all.

Thats what happens when you lose 26 seniors. The great thing is a lot of people around here, myself included, feel very good about this team because of the spots we have guys returning at and how the schedule sets up.

The 11 is a little bit of an "undercount." They don't count guys who were regularly starters but who got knocked off due to injuries. Here are the guys Iowa returns:

O - 8 guys
Reiff
MacMillan
Ferentz
Gettis
Zusevics
Herman (as our #2 TE, he was effectively a starter considering how much we use multi-TE sets)
McNutt
Coker

D - 6 guys
Binns
Daniels
Nielsen
Morris
Hyde
Prater

Thus, the "real number" seems to be more around 13 or 14.

I agree homer yeah we aren't lookin at 18-20 returning players but you look at some of those NOT starters like Morris, DiBona, everyone is forgetting the LB from Ohio that got hurt early in the year and he was a starter.
