I don't even see it as close. We will have a better record. Improving one win in the regular season and it's only 8. Iowa will win at least 8.

If Iowa can go 6-6 with the worst quarterback Iowa has had in my lifetime, I find it hard to believe they'll finish worse than 7-5.

I think our reg season record will be better.........not sure of bowl game .......most likely against SEC.

Considering our record against the SEC in Outback/Cap One Bowl settings, I'd feel okay about that. Certainly no gimme win, but hardly a time to chalk up a loss ahead of time, either.

With a QB that some want to put in the top 3 in Iowa history this year we were a dropped pass away from 6-6.

To the OP, I am predicting 7-5 so I like the answer that said 7-5 +/- 1 win.

I suppose you're right and Iowa could go 1-6 in close games again. But I'll play the odds and say that won't happen two years in a row.

Iowa will likely go 4-0 in the non-conference portion which even if they held serve at .500 in the Big Ten will improve their record. Personally I see 9-3 backing off my initial Pitt loss since they are going to overhaul their system and the loss of their best threat in TB Dion Lewis.

The schedule really helps the new guys filling in for players that are graduating/leaving. We have two cupcakes with Tenn Tech and Monroe, a down BCS team at home (Pitt), and a down BCS team on the road (ISU) which is the only game that scares me in the nonconference. I think with several new guys playing next year we'll probably drop a game or two that we probably shouldn't, but I'll say 9-3 as my very early prediction.
