Nebby recruiting

its okay hunter, i miss the 90's too
Yeah, miss the good ol' days.

nothing that has been said here can be proven by FACTS to be lies or anything else. they're all opinions.
I guess, but people present them as facts, or actually believe the garbage that they are spewing. All innuendo and assumption.

I'm sure some of you believe in the "opinion" (as you put it) that Nebraska gives it walk-on football players "county scholarships" and swear that it's true.

Nah, just a little perplexed, but whatever. My life goes on.

You may have enjoyed IC more (you're a Hawk fan, I get that) but I've been to plenty of games in Lincoln, and I personally have never seen an opposing fan treated poorly. Like I said, maybe a little friendly banter or kidding around, but if you are decent to Husker fans and you make friends, they will likely invite you to their tailgate party. If you act like an a-hole, you'll probably get what you deserve.

If by "obnoxious" you mean a bunch of Husker fans walking around downtown Lincoln yelling, "Go Big Red!" on game day, then yeah, I guess we're obnoxious. Or your skin is too thin and you had no business being there anyway.

I wasn't an opposing fan! I lived there and had tickets to any game I wanted to go to. The Husker fans really turned me off because of their "you're not with us so GTFO" attitude, even when people are minding their own business. My friends and I were tailgating and it was a terrible environment to do this in.

Being in the stadium was just as bad. Couldn't believe this. Very refreshing to be in and around Kinnick.

The one thing that is clear to me is that 74 Hunter is a true Husker Fan.

Unfortunately, for everyone else he is a true Husker Fan.

You say you are not trolling, so what are you doing? It seems you are spending time at the premier Hawkeye site, to ensure that Hawkeye fans use the proper facts when they discuss your beloved Huskers.

Something seems amiss here. Husker fans told one of their own that you're not with us, so GTFO??? I will agree that the tailgating isn't very good in Lincoln, but there are tons of bars.

Wow, interesting. Are there knuckleheads in every fan base, yes. But as I've said, I've been to lots of games, and I've never witnessed this. Agree to disagree.

Don't be skrrrrrd :D

Just seeing what is going on east of the river. Interesting to see what's on y'alls' minds. And, I'm tired of the meltdown that is happening in Husker Nation, hurts my head. Until some of our offensive staff get the axe (if it ever happens), its gonna be kinda ugly.

Doubt it. Like I said the only other fan bases that I have ever heard say this are Iowa and ISU, wonder why? lol. Even Texass fans say that they were treated well in Lincoln, so chances are if people were obnoxious to you, it was because you brought it on yourself. Been there multiple times, and I've never seen an opposing fan get treated rudely. Maybe some friendly ribbing, but nothing bad. We check our own, if we were to see this, we wouldn't go all Big 10 on someone.

Funny thing, I've heard that pretty much all Big 10 school are very inhospitable to rival fans, PSU, Ohio St, and Iowa being the worst.

I can't speak for Penn State, but I lived in Columbus for about 8 years and that simply isn't true. Attended two different Iowa/ OSU games at the 'Shoe in Hawk gear and the OSU fans were fine. Good natured ribbing, but fine. Living in Columbus, they have so many other things to pull their attention they don't become zombie like in their following of the Buckeyes. And no, I'm not an idiot or ignorant before you end your next reply with that.

Don't worry about how many stars their recruits have. Remember during the Bill Callahan era they consistently had top 5 recruiting classes. I really feel many of the services are slanted toward schools like that to make sure they sell more magazine and web subscriptions.

Nope. And I would know.

An easy if imperfect way to check if a service is "pimping" a rating is to check the kid's offer list.

All the services have biases, but (except for Tom Lemming) they're not by design but more a function of the work ethic and competence of their scouts in particular regions. Scout for example historically had great coverage of the SouthEast, Rivals of Texas and West Coast, you thus tended to see more kids reviewed (and thus more stars) in those areas. Lemming's a one-man Notre Dame pimp show and not worthy of any attention whatsoever. Scouts Inc. (ESPN) has had no real scouting program at all - famously putting Pepperdine in their top 20 one year - though they've hired some actual scouts recently. McShay is a fool but you knew that.

I thought that OSU fans were one of the most loyal and difficult to please. The people who said that they were bad were texa$$ fans, so take it for what it's worth.

Ahh, that's when Colorado Univ. owned them.
CU owned NU in the 90's? Really? CU won in 1990, and we tied in 1991. Then, NU ran off 9 in a row, through the 2000 season. So CU going 1-8-1 against NU was an owning???????

hmm.

Most those fans had nothing good to say about Lincoln either, other than it's a good place to win at.
These are CU fans, we are talking about, which are among the worst in the nation. Beer bottle throwing, urine pooring, automobile vandalizing "fans." If they said that winning is good in Lincoln, well, they have won there 4 times since the 60's, so they probably don't know much about it.

If you believe what they say, I feel very, very sorry for you. Two words come to mind: ignorant and uninformed.
