You can't throw a dump off pass on 3rd & 17 to Robinson with no timeouts? throw the ball away. There gets a point in a two minute drill you have to throw the ball down the field.

So, you want him to try to force it downfield when the game is on the line, and perhaps get a pick? Or check down and try to get some yardage and make a safe throw?

It was a smart(ish) move.


Under this staff, the clock management is ALWAYS horrible.

It is the chicken or the egg dilemma. They have not let him make decisions over the past three years, so when he is in a situation where he has to make a decision it is more difficult to make the right one.

Or, they have not let him make decisions because they believe he is incapable of making a good one.

He has good stats but he just doesn't make great reads. Today they had some deep balls called and he already made up his mind he was going to throw them even though they were covered. Watching you could see secondary receivers wide open underneath for 10-15 yard gains.

If he doesn't throw the jump ball pick we don't lose the game.
