Sent some feedback to ESPN

Everyone who doesn't have the Iowa-Wisconsin game on ABC will have the Clemson-Georgia tech game on ESPN. The best that they can hope for is to watch the Iowa game on Standard def.

With many large screen tvs a non hd broadcast is unwatchable. I can't imagine what the business sense is in bumping a huge game like this for two unranked mediocre teams like those.

Here's the link to ESPN's feedback page.

I don't think you understand the definition of "unwatchable". We live in spoiled times.

I don't think you understand what a standard def football game on a 6-7 year old projection tv is like. Watching normal programming in standard def is fine, but with a football game it's so fuzzy that you literally can not see things like blocks at the line of scrimmage. If I had a small screen tv it wouldn't matter at all.

I can watch it but it's just like when you used to watch a tv station with an antenna and very bad reception. It's literally that bad. I pay 120 dollars a year extra for HD exclusively for football games. Call me crazy, but I'd like to actually be able to see what's going on.

Yes, I can see the game, but it's like going to a nice restaurant and spending a lot of money to get a nice meal. Then the waiter brings you an old mold covered piece of bread with worms crawling on it. It's still food. If you were starving it would keep you alive, but I guarantee you wouldn't want to eat it.

I know exactly what you are saying. It is sort of like going to a dentist and having all your teeth pulled. Then at the end of your appointment your dentist arranges all of your teeth into a fashionable necklace. Sure, its a necklace and you needed one for the club that night; but I guarantee you wouldn't want to wear it when all the girls see how many cavities you had.

Funny stuff....

"old mold covered piece of bread with worms crawling on it. It's still food. If you were starving it would keep you alive, but I guarantee you wouldn't want to eat it"

You know, I live in a small town, with standard cable we pay $26.00 a month for, no HD, but I seem to be able to see every game, all the blocks, tackles, and touchdowns...

You are spoiled...:) but thats okay... I'd be the same way if I had it...

I hear ya there. Thats just like planning the bank robery of the century. You plan and you plan , carefully going over every detail making sure everyone knows their jobs and can do them in their sleep. You cover every possible scenario makins sure you are prepared for anything and everything and then when the big day comes, your get away driver calls in sick and you have to use public transportation. Sure you can still get it done but it's going to take 45 minutes longer and your going to have to use up all of your transfers to get to the hide out.

I live in a small town too. I don't get all the fancy stuff. I watch in standard definition too. I don't have a problem with it at all. Heck, back in my younger days I only got to listen to it.

I know what you mean. It's like buying a new anchor for your boat because you are going on a fishing trip and you want to be sure your boat doesn't drift out of the good fishing spots. Then on the big day when you are loading up for the trip your new anchor slips from your hands and lands on your foot. Yes, you have dropped anchor and the boat isn't drifting but you have crushed every bone in your foot.

I know. It's like you trade in your Honda Accord and buy a Porsche and then you get on the road and there is traffic so you can't drive your Porsche fast. I mean why have a Porsche if you can't drive it fast? What are all these other people on the road? Where do they have to go that is so important? Don't they know they are blowing your Porsche high?

:D exactly like that.

The claim it has something to do with reverse mirroring HD games and the lack of capacity to do so...blah blah blah...they are working on expanding that capacity. What a thrilling matchup of the one of the bottom feeding BCS conferences...

Yeah, I don't know anything about the technical aspects of this, but I don't know what the problem is.

They say they're working on expanding their capacity?? Maybe they should talk to the Big Ten Network cause they have had a bunch of games on the overflow channels in HD at the same time. lol

At least you guys get the opportunity to watch. I will have to pull it up on justin or something.

You're not the only one, Direct tv customers are lucky to have it at all, I know a lot of cable companies don't carry this third game.

If you have to watch it online it'll be on espn3.

thanks for that link. I had two husker games last weekend and i dont get the standard definition either so i have to watch iowa game on computer. Im really ******! Isnt this one of the biggest games this weekend.
