What the Arizona vs Cal game taught me ...

The Arizona DL truly is legit. Even despite a loss to Nevada, Cal's O still put up 31 points.

Cal has featured an incredibly explosive O ... and yet the 'Zona D held the group to just 9 points.

It gives me more hope that the Iowa OL likely will develop into a pretty formidable group as they proceed through the Big 10 slate. Of course, the unit will also have to work hard to make pretty big strides through EACH AND EVERY week. Fortunately, I think that the group is capable of doing just that!

While I agree that Arizona has a better than advertised defense, I think that Iowa falling behind 14-0 had a lot to do with the subpar performance of the O-line. IMO, it took Iowa right out of their gameplan immediately and changed the complexion of what the game could have been. With that said, Arizona is good and should compete for the Pac10 crown. Iowa's loss to Arizona was not a bad loss IMO. Now Texas on the other hand...

What it taught me is Arizona really went all in for the Iowa game. They were predictably flat in this one, but Cal's D is not so good that Arizona should have had only 3 points after 58+ minutes of play.

Absolutely. The fact that Iowa got caught behind early totally screwed our O. I'm pretty certain that had we not gotten caught behind early, the tenor of the game would be MUCH different. We still probably wouldn't have gotten a ton of yards. But we definitely would have been able to eat up A LOT more clock ... and the O would have been more efficient.
